About us

The practice owner Russell Dennis developed a passion for physiotherapy and musculoskeletal rehabilitation during his 25-year involvement with powerlifting and bodybuilding. Throughout this time he had numerous sessions of sports massage and physiotherapy for injuries ranging from a torn rotator cuff to patella tendonitis. Inspired by the effectiveness of these therapies he decided to train in remedial massage therapy with the Scottish Massage Therapy association in 1998. On completion of this course he started working with mainly rugby players, bodybuilders and fighting athletes. In 2000 he decided to further his anatomy and physiology knowledge by completing a human biology degree at Loughborough University followed by a Physiotherapy degree at Coventry University.

After completion of his degrees he went on to gain considerable experience working in a variety of settings including soft tissue injury clinics, orthopaedic in & outpatients, general musculoskeletal and sports injuries in both the public and private sectors.

In 2009 he moved in to private practice specializing in sports injuries, remedial & sports massage, and general musculoskeletal rehabilitation. During the last two years Russell has been privileged to work with the general public and athletes in sports ranging from soccer & rugby, ice hockey, boxing, running, cycling, swimming, athletics and dancing. He is presently the Physiotherapist to the athletes at Hull MDMA, East Yorkshires premier Mixed Martial arts training centre.

His post-graduate training has focused on the development of advanced soft tissue and joint mobilisation/manipulation skills. Sports & remedial massage underpin much of his manual therapy with support from electrotherapy. All of his work revolves around a core of extensive remedial exercise.
